DEAR READER,
Hi! Thanks for visiting my website! My name is Collette and I'm a San Diego-based photographer. I've been a freelance photographer since I was 13, which is also when I started making postcards of my local park. The postcard side-hustle was short-lived but valuable experience for a 13-year-old!
Behind my camera, I look for moments worthy of the family album. I create photographs that last a lifetime.
Like other photographers, I focus on taking my craft to the next level: weddings, proposals, graduations, family pictures, portraits and career headshots.
What you need, I am good for.
Purposefully, I don't specialize my clientele. My philosophy is that photographs are powerful and can hold a pure memory. My aim is to capture those memories. So, when you're in your winter years, looking back on your pictures with grandchildren gathered 'round, you get transported right back to when that picture was taken.

Collette Cribbins is a San Diego based freelance photographer and recent graduate of San Diego State University.
Having earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and media studies, Cribbins plans to use photography as a photojournalist, future published author and magazine contributor.
From the very beginning, Cribbins has made money from her photography. At 13, after taking pictures on her iPhone 4, Cribbins’ mother encouraged her to pick up a point and shoot camera to develop her photographic eye. Starting small, she photographed an iconic landmark in her city and sold postcards in a local boutique. These postcards did well, until Cribbins decided she wanted to take clients. She made the switch at 15.
During high school, Cribbins had many opportunities that rapidly progressed her photography skills. One such opportunity included photographing her school’s “One Love” response to community discrimination accusations. Another was falling in love with film photography. To Cribbins, some of her biggest milestones in high school include winning multiple county-wide photography competitions.
After receiving the highest score in her advanced placement test for photography, Cribbins decided to hang up the camera strap and leave her high school experiences in high school.
Cribbins wasn’t able to leave the camera hanging for long, however, as she greatly missed her passion and camera. During her time at Brigham Young University–Idaho, Cribbins worked for the university newspaper as their photo editor, then marketing manager. It wasn’t until she entered her schooling at San Diego State that she truly recognized her love for photography and the joy she gets from photographs that turn out better than she could have imagined.
Currently, Cribbins works freelance and enjoys helping clients with their photography needs. She uses photography in her journalistic endeavors.
